Law is a study program at university level. The study program covers the basics of law, implementation of law, the presentation of legal issues and theoretical issues. To obtain the professional title of lawyer, a master’s degree must be completed.

  • Undergraduate studies end with a BA/BS degree – the duration of study is three years.
  • Master’s studies for a final examination take two years.

Admission requirements are a matriculation examination or a comparable study program.

The program is credit-worthy for subsistence and tuition fees at the Student Education Fund (Menntasjóður námsmanna). Trade union education funds often provide scholarships for study. Get more information from your union.

After graduation

After completing a master’s degree, you can title yourself a lawyer and apply for rights to defend a case in court.
