Systems analysis is an undergraduate program at university level. The study program covers general computer science, general programming and web programming, algorithms, software science and operating systems.


The program ends with a diploma. The study duration based on full-time study is two years.

Study

The Faculty of Computer Science at Reykjavík University offers a diploma program in computer science that corresponds to the first two years of BSc studies. Also taught in Akureyri, in collaboration with the University of Akureyri.

The program is credit-worthy for subsistence and tuition fees at the Student Education Fund (Menntasjóður námsmanna). Trade union education funds often provide scholarships for study. Get more information from your union.

Curriculum

The program is taught in on-site and distance learning and offers compulsory and elective courses. The final project is done in the second year.

The curriculum can be as follows:
– Full-time on-site study takes two years
– Studying alongside working varies according to individual needs, but usually takes four years
– Distance learning can be completed in two or three years

After graduation

Upon completion a diploma, it is possible to work as a systems analyst. It is possible to continue your studies in computer science and complete a BSc degree.
