Preliminary Studies at Reykjavík University are intended for people who are aiming for higher education but have not completed their matriculation exam or want to add credits in mathematics, physics and chemistry to their secondary school degree.
The study program is structured individually for the students and based on the university studies they are aiming for in the future. Also available in East Iceland from autumn 2021.
Teaching takes place on the premises of Reykjavík University and also in East Iceland from autumn 2021.
See admission requirements. The study path is based on the university studies the student is aiming for in the future. The Preliminary Studies program is eligible for a loan from the Student Education Fund.
The study duration is one to two years – a mix of traditional and digital studies.
Along with studying at the Preliminary Studies program, it might be a good idea to consult a career counsellor regarding the possibility of further studies.
